The government bestowed titles to Prime Minister Hun Sen’s niece and the wife of a senior ministry official, and replaced a provincial governor who is undergoing medical treatment.
Hun Kimleng, Hun Sen’s niece and National Police commissioner Neth Savoeun’s wife, and Kim Heng, who is the wife of Interior Ministry secretary of state Sok Phal, were given the monisraphoan tnat moha sereivath titles for unspecified contributions, according to a document in book 92 of the Royal Gazette.
The titles were signed on November 15, 2022, by the king on the recommendation of Hun Sen.
A Reuters story in 2019 alleged that Hun Kimleng and Neth Savoeun paid for Cypriot citizenship and owned expensive real estate overseas. Sok Phal was previously the head of immigration in the Ministry of Interior.
In the same Royal Gazette volume, the government also replaced Pailin governor Cheav Tay with Khoy Rida, because the former needed medical treatment. However, Cheav Tay was given another job as a secretary of state at the Interior Ministry, according to another document in the book.
