The king appointed four district and provincial administrators to be assistants to Prime Minister Hun Sen, according to a document in the Royal Gazette released in June.
According to a royal decree dated November 19, 2022, and published in book 93 of the Royal Gazette last month, the king promoted Khlaing Huot, Nuth Puthdara, Krouch Phan and Keo Chansunnary to be assistants of the prime minister.
Khlaing Huot is a former governor of Phnom Penh’s Chroy Changva district, and was promoted to be a Phnom Penh municipal deputy in July 2022. Nuth Puthdara, a former governor of Phnom Penh’s Dangkao district, was appointed as Kratie’s provincial deputy in December 2019 before being moved to be a Kandal provincial deputy governor in March 2020.
Krouch Phan is currently head of the Pur Senchey district council in Phnom Penh, while Keo Chansunnary is a deputy governor of Chroy Changva district.
As prime ministerial assistants, three of the officials will have ranks equivalent to secretary of state while the fourth will be equivalent to director-general, according to the gazette.
