Hun Sen’s Nephew Promoted, CPP Lawmaker’s Son Gets New Job

The nephew of Prime Minister Hun Sen and the son of the former governor of Phnom Penh received promotions, according to documents from book 83 of the Royal Gazette.

Hun Kimcheat was appointed the deputy director of the judicial police, which assists investigating judges in criminal investigations. The appointment was formalized in a document signed by Prime Minister Hun Sen on October 19 and publicly released by the Council of Ministers in May.

Hun Kimcheat is a son of Hun San, who is the brother of Hun Sen.

In the same Royal Gazette, Pa Vong Sokret was appointed as secretary of state at the Rural Development Ministry, in a document signed by Hun Sen on October 19. Vong Sokret is the son of Pa Socheatvong, who was the governor of Phnom Penh and currently a Cambodian People’s Party lawmaker.
