The government promoted the ranks of more than 100 civil servants, including the son of the minister of mines and energy.
In a document publicly released by the Council of Ministers in May, Prime Minister Hun Sen promoted ranks and levels of more than 100 people including Suy Dimanche, the son of Mines and Energy Minister Suy Sem.
In the sub-decree, dated September 13, 2022, Prime Minister Hun Sen signed off on the promotions of 86 administrative officials and 68 senior technical officials in the Mines and Energy Ministry. The promotions were already effective as of April 13, 2022, the document says.
The sub-decree stated that Suy Dimanche was promoted from category A2-2 to A2-1. The complex civil service ranking system ranges from A1-1 at the top to C-10 at the bottom. Suy Dimanche was previously promoted to be secretary of state at the Ministry of Mines and Energy on November 3, 2018.
