{"id":3396,"date":"2023-07-24T11:47:12","date_gmt":"2023-07-24T04:47:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kamnotra.io\/en\/?p=3396"},"modified":"2023-08-09T17:10:15","modified_gmt":"2023-08-09T10:10:15","slug":"cpp-strongest-in-pursat-invalid-votes-highest-in-phnom-penh","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kamnotra.io\/en\/2023\/07\/cpp-strongest-in-pursat-invalid-votes-highest-in-phnom-penh\/","title":{"rendered":"CPP Strongest in Pursat, Invalid Votes Highest in Phnom Penh"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Province-by-province results from Sunday\u2019s election show relatively weak turnout in the country&#8217;s northwest, and the share of invalid votes highest in and around Phnom Penh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of Monday morning, the National Election Committee has published voting results from 98% of polling stations from Sunday&#8217;s election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ruling Cambodian People&#8217;s Party won the vast majority of votes at 82% of valid votes nationally, or 78% of total votes including invalid votes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its share was highest in Pursat, at 88% of total votes, and also strong in the country&#8217;s northeast \u2014 Mondulkiri, Ratanakiri and Stung Treng. It was relatively weak in the neighboring provinces of Siem Reap and Kampong Thom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Invalid votes, meanwhile, were most common in Phnom Penh at 7.5%, followed by Kandal at 6.9%.
