A series of royal decrees granted oknha titles to three relatives of Prime Minister Hun Sen as well as tycoon Kith Meng\u2019s wife and 18-year-old son, according to documents disseminated by pro-government media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Oknha titles are recognitions for the country\u2019s businesspeople, with a minimum criteria previously announced<\/a> as being a $500,000 donation to the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The latest documents have yet to be officially released by the Council of Ministers in the Royal Gazette<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to royal decrees dated July 12 and 15, 2023, published on government-aligned Fresh News<\/a>, Hun Sen\u2019s sister Hun Sinath received an oknha title while Hun Sen\u2019s brother Hun San and brother-in-law Kry Touch were made neak oknha, a higher version of the title. Kry Touch<\/a> is a brother of Hun Sen\u2019s wife Bun Rany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hun Sinath<\/a> is married to Nim Chantara<\/a>, secretary of the National Assembly\u2019s committee on foreign affairs, international cooperation, propaganda and information and a lawmaker for Kampot province. The couple\u2019s daughter, Nim Vannak<\/a>, also holds an oknha title. Hun Sinath and Nim Vannak together direct ACE Group, according to Commerce Ministry records.
