The two have changed their names to Thorng Chamreun and Keo Sary, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oknha Thorng Sarath and four of his bodyguards <a href=\"https:\/\/dap-news.com\/national\/2022\/01\/26\/216991\/\">were sentenced by Phnom Penh Municipal Court to life in prison in March 2019<\/a> for premeditated murder in connection with the shooting death of oknha Ung Meng Cheu in Phnom Penh\u2019s Chamkarmon district in 2014.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group knRight has-white-background-color has-background has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\" style=\"padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30)\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-nowrap is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-e021f648 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\" style=\"border-top-color:var(--wp--preset--color--luminous-vivid-orange);border-top-width:1px;border-bottom-color:var(--wp--preset--color--luminous-vivid-orange);border-bottom-width:1px;padding-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--20);padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--20)\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-5bbf97a4 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\" style=\"padding-right:0;padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30)\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-playfair-display-font-family\" style=\"padding-top:0;padding-right:0;padding-bottom:0;padding-left:0;font-style:normal;font-weight:700\">Duong The Cuong and Tran Thi Loc<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-roboto-font-family has-small-font-size\" style=\"padding-top:0;padding-right:0;padding-bottom:0;padding-left:0;font-style:normal;font-weight:300\">Parents of Oknha Thorng Sarath<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-roboto-font-family has-small-font-size wp-block-list\">\n<li>Action: Given Citizenship<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Date: July 1, 2022<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nationality: Vietnamese<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Institution: Royal Palace, King<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>New Names: Thorng Chamreun and Keo Sary<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>But in November 2020, the Appeal Court in Phnom Penh decided to release four of the defendants \u2014 Thorng Sarath and his bodyguards Kuoy Chanthol, Meas Sambath and Khun Chetra \u2014 on bail and placed them under judicial supervision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In February 2022, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vodkhmer.news\/2022\/02\/17\/supreme-court-upholds-acquit-thong-sarath-in-ung-mengjie-murder-case\/\">Supreme Court dropped the charges<\/a> against the four.
